Funky Divaa Fashion Fix

Its thursday and that can only mean 1 thing.......This weeks fashion fix. And the inspiration has come from the recent nuptials of one Kim Kardashian and that is "Monochrome Madness". Yep black and white are in this season and for anyone who has seen the newspaper coverage of the wedding you will know that Kim did this in a big way at her wedding.

So how can you avoid looking like cruela deville or the bride of frankenstein and instead look magic in mono, well hopefully my selections will do just that:

So yes I know the brown belt doesnt fit the theme but you can swap that for one that does easily enough. The top also combines another hot trend at the moment polka dots with the monochrome colours and if your butt is less than "Bootilicious" unlike kims the chinos will hide any imperfect bits.Finish the look with a big black bag and your definately a sight to been seen not shyed away from!

Slimavite Diet Weigh In

2 LBS!!

Woohoo so very proud of myself and I am starting to get the old cheeky me back too.

So that is all for this week im off back to bed I think :)

Review: Perfect treats for a girls night in

Have you ever as a parent felt guilty about that glass of wine and bar of chocolate to wind down in the evening when the kids are in bed? I know I have, but no longer do we have to be........

I was lucky enought to receive some wonderful products in the post to test and review and 2 of these products fit the bill perfectly as a nice not naughty treat for mummy. The first is the gorgeous non-alcoholic rose I received from Eisberg.

Its product description says that it's "A refreshingly juicy non-alcoholic rosé wine with succulent aromas of ripe strawberries and a hint of cherries"

And I have to say that is a very acurate descriotion. Its very fruity with an almost peach like taste and yep definitely refreshing it has all the looks and qualities of a wine but without the alcohol content so no turnt up noses when you crack open a bottle on a monday night. 10 out of 10 Eisberg and whats even better is its available at supermarkets such as tesco.

Next are "Choccy Munchy Seeds" from you guessed it Munchy Seeds lol.

They are "a new type of snack developed through our passion for mindful munching, we have taken the nutritional benefit of the seed and coated it with luxurious Belgian chocolate to give you a nutritious nibble with a choccy fix!"

And although I was sceptical to begin with they are really tasty. The crunch of the seeds and the rich flavours of the belgian chocolate make them very moorish even my 2 year old daughter loved them and she can sometimes be a very harsh critic.

So if your looking for a snack or a tipple that wont leave you feeling ashamed or that needs to be hidden in your "secret mummy place" then I can definately recommend these.

This weeks Funkydivaa Fashion Fix

Sooo after a little break I'm back with this weeks fashion fix.And my idea has come from my lengthy search for a birthday outfit. I've been undecided as to what look I wanted to go for at my drag-tastic birthday party at Priscilla Queen of the Desert on the 3rd of september do I go for a fitted dress and courts ala Cheryl Cole and Eva Longoria or do I go a bit Rock Chick or maybe even English Rose/Country? Quite a dilema.... sometimes its hard trying to be a fashionista lol.

So after several hours of trawling the web Funkydivaa presented the answer (should have looked there first lol):

Just the right amount of rock chic mixed with a dash of Cheryl and a pinch of country I think.

Im especially loving the wet look leggings and the subtle texture from the suede effect ankle boots makes sure that theres not too much shine in the outfit and also complements the grey from the top and the nail varnish.

So take a look and let me know what you think?

Slimavite Diet Post Holiday Weigh In

So I'm back from holiday! And I had the most amazing week with my 2 year old daughter and my fiance on her first ever foray abroad. The only downside was I ate wayyyyyyyy too much. I completely forgot that france is the land of bread, cheese and pastry :( So needless to say copius amounts of all were consumed. Including a really naughty chocolate and whipped cream crepe and waffle! And not to forget that as we were in the loire alot of wine ! oooops

That being said though I was very happy with this weeks weigh-in especially considering the amount I did induldge over the holiday.

This week I........ gained 1 lb.

So only a pound put on hoooray.... I'm putting it down to the fact that we were pretty much in the swimming pools all day everyday with our daughter (it was 29 degrees all week)and running around the 3 adventure parks on site lol

Plus I feel much better with a bit of tan! And am ready to rock my size 14 bodycon dress in a few weeks for my birthday (never thought id get to say that sentance again after my daughter)

Festival Fashion Mummy Style

So festival season is in full swing and with the likes of V,Reading and Leeds still to come in the calendar it got me thinking about how us mummies compare against the regular festival fillies in the style stakes. And I have to say we yummy mummies can hold our own!

This year has seen many a celeb mum (Coleen Rooney for one) brave the fields and swelling crowds to take in the atmosphere and live music you find at a festival. And as you would expect many have been papped looking fabulous and fresh in their Wellies not a hair out of place despite rain and mud.

One such celeb mum that nailed the yummy mummy festival look I think is Jo Whiley!

Now yes ok not everyone can afford the Jimmy Choo Hunters and gorgeous Muubaa Leather Jacket she is sporting in the picture below but this is definately a style that you could easily copy using highstreet alternatives! And I LOVE the fact that she has kept that little hint of childishness in the outfit with the super fun and brightly coloured Minnie Mouse T-shirt and little badge on her matching shorts.

DJ and mum-of-four Jo Whiley hosted the first ‘Persil Pass on the Love Picnic’ at Camp Bestival on the weekend. Mums and kids were encouraged to hold a picnic and bring newly washed soft toys for another child to love - for fun family picnic ideas and more visit www.netmums.com/persilpassonthelove

And what are Jo's must haves for staying fresh and foxy if your attending a festival this summer?

1. “Wellington Boots. These should take absolute priority; they look good no matter what you’re wearing and suit any weather. The chunkier the better in my opinion.

2. A hat. If you’re staying at a festival for more than one day, your hair will inevitably start doing its own thing at some point so you need a hat to hide it and look stylish.

3. Wet wipes. If you’re going to be in a big crowd, you don’t want to be the one making everyone hold their noses! Wipes are also perfect for cleaning smudged mascara, and freshening up your face.”

Im a mummy blogger get me to the Look Fashion Show

Ever since I was a little girl I've dreamed of attending one of the shows for London fashion week as a reporter for a top fashion magazine..... the runway, the lights, the gorgeous clothes for the upcoming season (and even more gorgeous models) and not to forget the ever coveted "front row seats" that see fashion conscious celebs such as Jaime Winstone and Lily Allen grace them. Now since having my daughter 2 years ago I've had to put my career on a temporary hold but the other day when my inbox alerted me "you have mail" and I clicked onto the wonderful look magazines latest newsletter, my heart began to beat faster then ever at the sheer notion of the opportunity laid out in front of me. Look are giving 5 unbelievably lucky bloggers the chance to do just what I dream of at the Look Show Westfield Stratford City this September and I WANT TO BE ONE OF THEM! lol. Now I may only be a mummy blogger but damn it us mummies are fashion forward too.....We eagerly await the new season's collections just as much as the next girl, we drool over the latest designer bags and accessories seen in the glossies on the likes of the current queens of fashion Victoria Beckham and Kate Middleton,we also aspire to one day own a wardrobe full of Louboutins and Choo's that would rival Carrie Bradshaw's in Sex and The City and heaven forbid should you mention a sale! But still us mummies get overlooked and stereotyped as unfashionable, denim wearing, puke scented ruffians and banished to the realm of nappies and night feeds without a second thought. So here I am coming forward to represent all us mummies who's style go's un-noticed in the fashion world, saying that we too are worthy of experiencing the glitz and glamour associated with the catwalk,we too are capable of being trend setters and we too know the difference between herringbone and paisley or tweed and twill.......

So Look magazine I beseech you make my dream come true, let me attend London fashion week this September for you, bringing a voice to the fashionistas in the army of yummy mummies and proving to world that we your fellow sisters have also got style.

Do you Nail Rock?

Do you even know what I am talking about? lol....Well if not you should do!!!!

Nail Rock sell nail wraps the new HOT product for giving you salon professional nail art from the comfort of your own home. Nail wraps are essentially patterned stickers that are pre shaped for you to stick over your natural (or extended) nails, now dont worry you dont have to be a nail expert to apply them ( I certainly am not and I managed it on myself!) and they are actually really affordable coming in at £6.65 for a pack that would do 2 applications to finger nails or as I did one application on both toes and fingers.

I picked the Cheetah,Yellow,Black and Fluorescent Red Orange Set a mouthful I know lol and I have to say I am REALLY impressed. It took me just over and hour to apply both my fingers set and my toes set and I needed nothing more than a hairdryer and patience, the biggest bonus being that they're instantly dry leaving me free to run round after my 2 year old without fear of smudging my nails. I have to say when I first heard about them I couldnt grasp how stickers could last on your nails as long as a varnish could but after applying them I am convinced that they will. They work by using an adhesive that warms when under a hairdryer to stick them securely to your nails when it cools and dont worry if you make a mistake just heat it back up with the dryer, remove and try again!

And the finished result:

Yes they are bright but I love them and you definately cant tell that they're stickers and not hours of loving applied varnish. There is soooooo many different patterns to choose from and I'm dying to try the black lace on white set and the denim cheetah sets......

This weeks Funkydivaa Fashion Fix

Hello Funkydivaa's and welcome to this weeks fashion fix.

I have to say I LOVE this weeks selection.......I can think of so many different places to wear this look and ways to accessorize it. I was inspired by the plethora of pop coloured jeans available in the shops at the moment and used them to create a look that you could sashay round the shops in during the day but then kick it up a notch and carry the look over into the evening. SO take a look at my selections below:

And there we have it.......A smart but sexy look where the bright pink jeans really standing out against the black of the shoes and that gorgeous blazer. I kept the vest top underneath plain white so as not to take away from the jeans or appear to fussy. So have I nailed or failed this style? Let me know what you think.....
