On the road to becoming a "yummy mummy" thanks to Slimavite

Well that's it i am on the road to finally becoming a yummy mummy, thanks to the wonderful people at slimavite who's weight loss system i will be testing over the coming months. I've known for a while that i needed to do something about my weight but  I've been in serious denial about how bad it was, until a recent trip to the doctors that was. Ive been having a few menstrual and fertility issues and the doctor quite bluntly pointed out that my weight was a huge factor,i was devastated and several hours later i was still in tears.....But now i am resolute I WILL shift this weight and slimavite WILL help me do it. I embark on my quest with a few other ladies i know over on my twitter account so Ive you see us tweeting about it feel free to give us a pat on the back or a kick up the butt if we are slacking lol.....And hopefully soon i will be confident enough to don that bikini and take my daughter swimming with my head held high.

Extend and Go?

Since i was a little girl ive dreamt of having lucious long flowing locks and at 25 im still no closer to acheiving it. My hair has always been a source of frustration for me as my naturaly fine, almost paper thin hair is impossible to grow and even more awkward for up do's! For the best part of 2 years now i've been slowly growing my a-symmetric bob out and it has finally reached my collar bone but its just isnt long enough for the hairstyle i want for my wedding. My hairdresser and i have discussed hair extensions but the thought of glueing them into my fine hair gives me nightmares. Then a friend told me about Halo clip-in hair extensions !! Wonderful long pieces of hair that simply clip in at the roots of your hair and can be removed when its time for bed or for an even more angelic look their innovative HALO ........I was exstatic problem solved i would have my chic curly up-do for my big day after all........But alas no it was not to be at £50-£80 for a decent set a pennyless mummy like me just cannot justify purchasing them when my daughter needs clothes. And so my dream lays tattered and torn on the floor once more and i will have to rely on the blow-dry skills of my hairdresser to make me look beautiful on my wedding day.

Review: 17 Limited Edition Vintage Eye Palette

So I thought I'd jump right in and give you guys a review for one of my favourite products at the moment.I was lucky enough to win these beautiful palette's from the 17 cosmetics fan page on facebook back at the beginning of march and i can honestly say I've used them every day since! The bio online says:

"You’ll be sure to fall in love with our new 17 must have Limited Edition ‘Vintage Love’ Eye Palette. Designed to make your heart skip a beat and your eyes sparkle."

And i have to say they're not wrong. The packaging's gorgeous and really does have that vintage feel about it which is so hot at the moment. And the colours in the palette are bang on trend too. The pink palette is dedicated to "metallic nudes" and gives a fantastic natural everyday look perfect for spring. And the blue palette (open in the image) is "pretty pastels" a collection of girly pink, purple and blue shades that can be worn solo during the day for a flirty look or blended together in the evening to give that sexy smokey effect. The shadows themselves are great they don't crease, they stay put all day and are really pigmented which i love as it really makes the colour stand out when applied. All in all a must have addition for any make-up bag this spring. They are great value and superb quality, but then again i should have expected this as they are from 17........... Now if only i could get my hands on their crackle top coat too!

Well i finally did it! I am a blogger

Ive been meaning to start a blog for a LONG time but ive never found the subject that i wanted to base it on until this weekend! With the sun out in all its glory these past few days there it stood staring me in the face as i opened my wardrobe........Now dont get me wrong theres nothing i love more than being mummy to my beautiful daughter but where did all my pretty clothes and make-up go? I'll be the first to admit that i have put on alot of weight since falling pregnant so my old clothes have long since been bagged and forgotten in the loft, but my current clothing collection is drab and boring to say the least ! Gone are my designer shoes, feminine dresses and sumptuous make-up selection and in its place faded/torn jeans, baggy t-shirts and nappy rash cream! And so mummy's like pretty things too was born, a blog that will document my struggle to feel pretty again,Fit into my old clothes once more and hopefully some product reviews too !
