Funky Divaa Fashion Fix

Its thursday and that can only mean 1 thing.......This weeks fashion fix. And the inspiration has come from the recent nuptials of one Kim Kardashian and that is "Monochrome Madness". Yep black and white are in this season and for anyone who has seen the newspaper coverage of the wedding you will know that Kim did this in a big way at her wedding.

So how can you avoid looking like cruela deville or the bride of frankenstein and instead look magic in mono, well hopefully my selections will do just that:

So yes I know the brown belt doesnt fit the theme but you can swap that for one that does easily enough. The top also combines another hot trend at the moment polka dots with the monochrome colours and if your butt is less than "Bootilicious" unlike kims the chinos will hide any imperfect bits.Finish the look with a big black bag and your definately a sight to been seen not shyed away from!

Woohoo so very proud of myself and I am starting to get the old cheeky me back too.

So that is all for this week im off back to bed I think :)

Review: Perfect treats for a girls night in

Have you ever as a parent felt guilty about that glass of wine and bar of chocolate to wind down in the evening when the kids are in bed? I know I have, but no longer do we have to be........

I was lucky enought to receive some wonderful products in the post to test and review and 2 of these products fit the bill perfectly as a nice not naughty treat for mummy. The first is the gorgeous non-alcoholic rose I received from Eisberg.

Its product description says that it's "A refreshingly juicy non-alcoholic rosé wine with succulent aromas of ripe strawberries and a hint of cherries"

And I have to say that is a very acurate descriotion. Its very fruity with an almost peach like taste and yep definitely refreshing it has all the looks and qualities of a wine but without the alcohol content so no turnt up noses when you crack open a bottle on a monday night. 10 out of 10 Eisberg and whats even better is its available at supermarkets such as tesco.

Next are "Choccy Munchy Seeds" from you guessed it Munchy Seeds lol.

They are "a new type of snack developed through our passion for mindful munching, we have taken the nutritional benefit of the seed and coated it with luxurious Belgian chocolate to give you a nutritious nibble with a choccy fix!"

And although I was sceptical to begin with they are really tasty. The crunch of the seeds and the rich flavours of the belgian chocolate make them very moorish even my 2 year old daughter loved them and she can sometimes be a very harsh critic.

So if your looking for a snack or a tipple that wont leave you feeling ashamed or that needs to be hidden in your "secret mummy place" then I can definately recommend these.

This weeks Funkydivaa Fashion Fix

Sooo after a little break I'm back with this weeks fashion fix.And my idea has come from my lengthy search for a birthday outfit. I've been undecided as to what look I wanted to go for at my drag-tastic birthday party at Priscilla Queen of the Desert on the 3rd of september do I go for a fitted dress and courts ala Cheryl Cole and Eva Longoria or do I go a bit Rock Chick or maybe even English Rose/Country? Quite a dilema.... sometimes its hard trying to be a fashionista lol.

So after several hours of trawling the web Funkydivaa presented the answer (should have looked there first lol):

Just the right amount of rock chic mixed with a dash of Cheryl and a pinch of country I think.

Im especially loving the wet look leggings and the subtle texture from the suede effect ankle boots makes sure that theres not too much shine in the outfit and also complements the grey from the top and the nail varnish.

So take a look and let me know what you think?

Slimavite Diet Post Holiday Weigh In

So I'm back from holiday! And I had the most amazing week with my 2 year old daughter and my fiance on her first ever foray abroad. The only downside was I ate wayyyyyyyy too much. I completely forgot that france is the land of bread, cheese and pastry :( So needless to say copius amounts of all were consumed. Including a really naughty chocolate and whipped cream crepe and waffle! And not to forget that as we were in the loire alot of wine ! oooops

That being said though I was very happy with this weeks weigh-in especially considering the amount I did induldge over the holiday.

This week I........ gained 1 lb.

So only a pound put on hoooray.... I'm putting it down to the fact that we were pretty much in the swimming pools all day everyday with our daughter (it was 29 degrees all week)and running around the 3 adventure parks on site lol

Plus I feel much better with a bit of tan! And am ready to rock my size 14 bodycon dress in a few weeks for my birthday (never thought id get to say that sentance again after my daughter)

Festival Fashion Mummy Style

So festival season is in full swing and with the likes of V,Reading and Leeds still to come in the calendar it got me thinking about how us mummies compare against the regular festival fillies in the style stakes. And I have to say we yummy mummies can hold our own!

This year has seen many a celeb mum (Coleen Rooney for one) brave the fields and swelling crowds to take in the atmosphere and live music you find at a festival. And as you would expect many have been papped looking fabulous and fresh in their Wellies not a hair out of place despite rain and mud.

One such celeb mum that nailed the yummy mummy festival look I think is Jo Whiley!

Now yes ok not everyone can afford the Jimmy Choo Hunters and gorgeous Muubaa Leather Jacket she is sporting in the picture below but this is definately a style that you could easily copy using highstreet alternatives! And I LOVE the fact that she has kept that little hint of childishness in the outfit with the super fun and brightly coloured Minnie Mouse T-shirt and little badge on her matching shorts.

DJ and mum-of-four Jo Whiley hosted the first ‘Persil Pass on the Love Picnic’ at Camp Bestival on the weekend. Mums and kids were encouraged to hold a picnic and bring newly washed soft toys for another child to love - for fun family picnic ideas and more visit www.netmums.com/persilpassonthelove

And what are Jo's must haves for staying fresh and foxy if your attending a festival this summer?

1. “Wellington Boots. These should take absolute priority; they look good no matter what you’re wearing and suit any weather. The chunkier the better in my opinion.

2. A hat. If you’re staying at a festival for more than one day, your hair will inevitably start doing its own thing at some point so you need a hat to hide it and look stylish.

3. Wet wipes. If you’re going to be in a big crowd, you don’t want to be the one making everyone hold their noses! Wipes are also perfect for cleaning smudged mascara, and freshening up your face.”
