So festival season is in full swing and with the likes of V,Reading and Leeds still to come in the calendar it got me thinking about how us mummies compare against the regular festival fillies in the style stakes. And I have to say we yummy mummies can hold our own!
This year has seen many a celeb mum (Coleen Rooney for one) brave the fields and swelling crowds to take in the atmosphere and live music you find at a festival. And as you would expect many have been papped looking fabulous and fresh in their Wellies not a hair out of place despite rain and mud.
One such celeb mum that nailed the yummy mummy festival look I think is Jo Whiley!
Now yes ok not everyone can afford the Jimmy Choo Hunters and gorgeous Muubaa Leather Jacket she is sporting in the picture below but this is definately a style that you could easily copy using highstreet alternatives! And I LOVE the fact that she has kept that little hint of childishness in the outfit with the super fun and brightly coloured Minnie Mouse T-shirt and little badge on her matching shorts.
DJ and mum-of-four Jo Whiley hosted the first ‘Persil Pass on the Love Picnic’ at Camp Bestival on the weekend. Mums and kids were encouraged to hold a picnic and bring newly washed soft toys for another child to love - for fun family picnic ideas and more visit www.netmums.com/persilpassonthelove
And what are Jo's must haves for staying fresh and foxy if your attending a festival this summer?
1. “Wellington Boots. These should take absolute priority; they look good no matter what you’re wearing and suit any weather. The chunkier the better in my opinion.
2. A hat. If you’re staying at a festival for more than one day, your hair will inevitably start doing its own thing at some point so you need a hat to hide it and look stylish.
3. Wet wipes. If you’re going to be in a big crowd, you don’t want to be the one making everyone hold their noses! Wipes are also perfect for cleaning smudged mascara, and freshening up your face.”
