One small step for mummy
So today I bit the bullet and jumped on the scales.........eek
For a long time now this has been something that I physically avoid doing I know I'm a lot heavier then I was before I had children so why do I need to see just how heavy?
Well for one I am fed up of being "squishy" as my darling daughter puts it and for two I turn 30 next year!
Having said that I was pleasantly surprised by the result I didn't in fact weigh as much as I expected to. And after last nights success at cooking a nice healthy paella that my whole family scoffed down ( including my veg-a-phobic husband) it has launched me on a whole new get fit and look fab mission that I pray to the heavens sticks this time!

My names Zoe and I'm a carb addict!
Soooooo it's just over two weeks to my friends wedding and my dress doesn't fit arghhhhhhhhh.
After months of being good and dropping half a stone back in February I treated myself to a lovely fitted floral number for my friends upcoming nuptials. It was a bit of a steal as it was from coast and reduced from over £100 to just under £40 so I couldn't resist it (I do love a bargain). Anyway jump forward to last night and after months of being hidden away in my wardrobe I decided I best try it on. Sheer horror struck as I realised it was on the tight side!
Now I'm not shy of the fact that I love my food. I enjoy cooking and trying new things and I'm also partial to a nice cake or pastry but my down fall is carbs. Bread, potatoes, pasta, rice you name it I can't live without it. I can easily give up chocolate and wine and all sugar in my tea etc but don't ask me to stop eating potatoes!
And now I'm facing having to do just that. A nutrition conscious friend of mine reckons if I cut them out for a couple of weeks it will be enough combined with my exercise routine to lose a few pounds to make the dress more comfortable.
The things we women do in the name of fashion and vanity lol.

Dressing for New York date night dilemma
Today's blog is brought to you by my impending panic over what to wear whilst in New York. Now obviously I'm no celebrity (oh how different and fabulous my wardrobe could be) but needless to say I don't plan on dressing like a tourist whilst I'm there. My day time outfits are more or less sorted but evenings out are what I'm struggling with. We're planning on two date nights one with cocktails and a posh dinner and one with a broadway show and cocktails so what do I wear! Everything I've ready is so conflicting some say wear black some say don't do that locals will laugh so what do I do?
What would you or have you worn if u were or have been to New York?

Return of the naughty blogger
Sooooo life has been hectic and I have just not had any time to blog for ages. But hopefully things have calmed down now and I will have a chance to blog a lot more especially as I prepare for my trip to New York in October eek.
Just as an update of where I am in my life. I am a mummy to two beautiful little monkeys one (my boy) with an ongoing case of puv, wife to a lovely man and facing the dreaded 30! Still trying to be a yummy mummy and still have a love of all things girly especially nail varnish which is my new obsession.
For the rest of the year I am aiming to blog at least twice a week so bear with me as I get going again !

"Insanity" workout yes I definately am mental
So for just under two weeks now I have been doing Shaun T's Insanity workout in a bid to get back to my pre baby weight! And in that moment I lay on the floor in a sweaty mess everyday I understand why they called it Insanity.
It was my darling hubby who persuaded (more like forced me) to do it lol.But I have to say I'm glad he did! And trust me saying that it hard.
The workout utilises several different high intensity interval training workouts planned out for you with 1 rest day a week. And it is cardio, cardio, cardio, cardio lol. Trust me when I say even the warm up is enough to get you pouring all over the floor but I can honestly say it is actually enjoyable even if it is tough.
The trainer and his gaggle of skinny and ripped assistants :( bounce and jump along with you and the workout is easy to follow even for a novice like me.So if you are looking for an at home workout that will quite literally kick your butt! This is one I can recommend. And who knows in 60 days time I may be able to come back and show you all the results........

Wow its been nearly a year since i've been able to do a blog post due to my littlest man being in hospital for so long after he was born!
But I am pleased to say that he is home now and doing so well he really is a fighter.
After such a scary year I am looking forward to being able to get back to normality with some much needed home cooking, baking and of course blogging!

Having my little boy has made me realise that my little girl has grown up before my eyes without really realising! Which makes me feel like an awful mummy :(
She's turnt from a fun loving toddler into a beautiful princess thats obsessed with "pretty dresses" in her words lol.
She even likes to sit with me when im putting my make-up on and play with my brushes copying mummy.

Biased I know but she's so sweet lol
